Bush Capital Lodge YMCA

The Y Canberra Region has 2 award winning group accommodation properties – Leumeah Lodge and Bush Capital Lodge.

We are environmentally and customer-focused in our service delivery across both locations.

Our highly skilled team delivers a specialised service to meet individual requirements, ensuring experiences are smooth and enjoyable for all.

Our competitive rates also include a 1:20 FOC teacher ratio, and FOC coach drivers (T&Cs apply).

 

Bush Capital Lodge is 10 minutes from Canberra’s major attractions and with enclosed, private grounds, Bush Capital Lodge provides a safe and welcoming environment catering exclusively to groups.

Accommodation

  • Up to 178 people accommodated in dormstyle rooms sleeping 4–12 Students.
  • Access to all rooms is via internal corridors.
  • 2 separate lodges – Banksia and Wattle – accommodating 132 and 64 people respectively.
  • Teacher rooms can include TV, tea/coffee, fridge and private bathrooms.
  • Separate Driver accommodation.
  • All linen supplied.

Recreation

  • Tranquil bushland surrounds, outdoor recreation and sporting grounds.
  • Large-screen TVs and USBs containing G-rated movies.
  • Kilometres of hiking trails close by.
  • Soccer nets.

Facilities

  • Dining room seats 100 guests.
  • Dining area has extended outdoor BBQ terrace and common space.
  • Ample off-street coach parking.
  • Free WiFi for Teachers and Supervisors.


Catering

Catering packages are made in-house and designed around Nutrition Australia’s healthy eating guidelines.

We offer:

  • 2 main options for hot dinners.
  • Adult meal options and soft beverages for Teachers/Supervisors for dinner service.
  • Tailor-made takeaway-style lunches.
  • Barista-style coffee at Leumeah Lodge for Teachers/Supervisors.
  • Pod-style coffee at Bush Capital Lodge for Teachers/Supervisors.
  • Additional catering options available including morning and afternoon tea, hot lunch onsite and supper.
  • Catering for special dietary requirements at an added charge.
  • Mealtimes allocated to work with itineraries.

Security

The Y Canberra Region’s accommodation sites are a secure and safe environment.

Our security provisions include:

  • We are accredited by the Australian Childhood Foundation.
  • Our team members undertake specialised training in Safeguarding Children and Young People.
  • All staff are rigorously screened through National Crime Checks and Working with Vulnerable People registration processes.
  • Main entrances, all bedrooms and communal spaces have lockable doors secured by keypad entry, with supervisor access to all student rooms.
  • We utilise security cameras, daily security patrols and back-to-base fire alarm monitors.
  • Additional security can be provided if requested.
