Royal Australian Mint
Visit the Royal Australian Mint to:
- learn how coins are made and make your own $1 coin (cost $3)
- see robots at work.
- explore the story of Australian coins.
Australian Curriculum links
The Mint program links to the Humanities and Social Sciences, Visual Arts, Cross-Curriculum Priorities and Design and Technologies learning areas.
Students will discover:
- how trade, currency and the way we use money has changed over time
- how coins are used to celebrate and commemorate significant events
- how technology helps us design and make coins.
