National Library of Australia

Explore your National Collection with the National Library of Australia!

Through our education program students can discover just what it takes to run the largest library in the Southern Hemisphere as they explore the National Library of Australia’s role in Civics and Citizenship, information and visual literacy, writing, and culture.

Discover the Library’s Collection

Treasures Gallery

The National Library of Australia’s Treasures Gallery is a treasure in more than name. Experience its ever-changing content, from maps by the earliest European explorers, to the UNESCO Memory of the World listed papers of Edward Koiki Mabo along with other marvels of Australia’s past.

Exhibitions Gallery

Right beside the Treasures Gallery, our Exhibitions Gallery hosts in-depth and special displays which bring stories from our collections to life.

Digital Classroom

Bring the National Library to your students with the Digital Classroom. Filled with primary and secondary sources drawn from the Library’s rich collection, students have an opportunity to develop their historical inquiry and source analysis skills using important and unique historical material from Australia and around the world. The Digital Classroom includes resources for Year 3 through to Senior Secondary, aligned with learning areas across the Australian Curriculum.
