Canberra Museum and Gallery

A vibrant place in the heart of  the city, Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) celebrates the region’s social history and visual arts with dynamic exhibitions and unique programs and events.

CMAG offers a wide range of learning programs with an emphasis on art and history, designed as interactive learning experiences. Programs are held in gallery spaces, with accompanying practical sessions in the studio.

The Nolan Collection

The Nolan Collection at CMAG exhibits iconic works of art by Australian artist Sidney Nolan. This important collection is explored through visual arts learning programs available in the gallery and studio spaces, as outreach sessions in the classroom, or as online resources.

The Art Box

Years F—3

This program makes connections between the Nolan and CMAG collections. Students engage with works of art through play-based activities and use QR code technology to respond and make. Available as an outreach resource for schools in the Canberra region.

Stop.Motion.Nolan

Years 3—6

Available as an online resource or outreach learning program for schools in the Canberra region. Students will use stop-motion animation techniques to engage with paintings and stories in The Nolan Collection
