Democracy Day in Tasmania, Outreach Program

Dates: 24 August – 28 August 2026

Location: Devonport, Launceston and Hobart and surrounds

Audience: Primary teachers and students in years 5 and 6

The National Capital Educational Tourism Project (NCETP) in partnership with educators from Canberra's premier National Cultural Institutions - the Parliamentary Education Office (PEO) from Australian Parliament House, the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD), and the National Electoral Education Centre (NEEC) are coming to Tasmanian schools in August.

Together we will deliver high quality Civics and Citizenship student workshop incursions in 4-5 schools and present Teacher Professional Learning (TPL) sessions in Devonport, Launceston and Hobart between 24-28 August.

All the workshops and TPL sessions are free.

In 2025, we successfully delivered this unique outreach program to schools in North Queensland.
