The NCETP, since its inception in 1999, has been instrumental in achieving the following:

  • Providing a co-operative and innovative marketing program for attractions in the National Capital Region, the State and Commonwealth Government and tourism bodies
  • Production of National School Excursion Planner 2004 - 2014
  • Developed the Education Travel Rebate
  • Attracted grant funding for the Education Travel Rebate from various government departments
  • Securing both a Regional Tourism Project grant in 2003 ($56,000) and an Australian Tourism Development Program grant  ($343,000) for promotional activities over 2006-07
  • Successfully lobbied for the introduction of the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate, a program funded by Department of Education, Science and Training (former) of $16million over 4 years.  The program commenced in June 2006
  • Successfully tendered to manage the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate in 2007
  • Secured funding for an Indigenous Students program in the National Capital, September 2006 from the Department Education, Science and Training
  • Awarded Tourism Award for Tourism Product Marketing locally in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006
  • Awarded Australian Tourism Award for Tourism Product Marketing in 2004 and 2005
  • Increased the number of annual student visitors to the National Capital over 35% since 2001
  • Successfully tendered in partnership with the Australian National University, Old Parliament House, Australian War Memorial, National Archives of Australia and National Museum of Australia for the Teaching History Summer School, January 2008
  • Assisted with a TQUAL grant for the Tourism Industry Council
  • Successfully tendered to administer the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate for 2010 – 2013
  • Instigated a funding partnership between the ACT Government, Australian National University and the National Capital Attractions to run the National Capital Exchange Program.
